In February 2021, Texas experienced a freeze that would test the infrastructure of the state, as well as the ability for its people to adapt. Blocked roads, rolling blackouts, lack of supplies and knowledge created an anxiety filled atmosphere most were not ready to handle. Little did most know the event was heading from bad to worst. The State was 4:37 away from a complete grid down scenario. This would exponentially increases many problems resulting in many more deaths do to illnesses, crime and exposure to the elements. This is one of many events I want to examine with you later but it inspired me to create this blog. 437Prepared is about learning the hard lessons the easy way so that we can be better prepared to protect our families, friends and countrymen from the dangers that the future holds.
